Sandi has been teaching our Monday night yoga class since 2008.The class is designed to focus on alignment, flow and to experiment with poses that challenge your mind and body to go further and reach your inner hidden yogic potential. Hence, the class is more intense but she makes it fun. Sandi has been teaching throughout the New York area since her graduation from YTTI in 2006 after many years of personal practice. She continues her yoga studies by taking workshops and training courses and is influenced by the many wonderful teachers that she is blessed to study with.
Kim started practicing yoga in 2012 as her
stretch/rest/recovery day while training for her first triathlon. She quickly
began to experience the physical, mental, emotional and psychological benefits.
She understood that yoga could be a great workout, a stress reducer and a
journey of personal development!! A pilgrimage to India in 2016 sparked more of
an interest in yoga philosophy leading her to enroll in yoga teacher training
at the Yoga Teachers Training Institute (YTTI). Kim completed her 200HR training
in December 2016 and her 500HR training in December 2017. She recently
completed her Meditation Teacher Training in November 2020. She is trained in
traditional Hatha yoga focusing on alignment and breath work as well as
mindfulness, meditation and deep relaxation techniques. She currently teaches
at multiple yoga studios and nursing homes as well as working with private
clients of all ages. Kim teaches Tuesday and Thursdays at 10:00AM.
For many years I practiced yoga before I decide to expand my journey in yoga. I became a certified yoga instructor in both 200 and 500 hours through the Yoga Teachers Training Institute. I continue to grow in my teaching, studies and practice. For me yoga is about inner changes and awareness. My passion is to share the positive effects it has on my life in hopes to bring those positive effects to others.
I believe yoga is for any age group, it it is a great way for maintaining good healh in body, mind and spirit. I also practice meditation which deepens my yoga practice. I am a certified yoga teacher and meditation teacher, RYT-500, Reiki level 2, and Yoga Kids foundation. I teach Hatha yoga at different studios, and also teach at Tru-Chi 慈濟 (a Buddhist nonprofit charity organization) in Flushing, New York. I am grateful to learn and be inspired by many great yoga teachers. I am even more grateful this ancient wisdom is available today, and it brings me joy to promote and teach yoga.
