Ashtanga Workshop with Raj Shtrom
Ashtanga yoga is a style of yoga popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois during the twentieth century, often promoted as a dynamic form of classical Indian Hatha yoga. The style is energetic, synchronizing breath with movements. The individual poses are linked by flowing movements.
Traditionally, ashtanga vinyasa yoga students memorize a sequence and practice it together without being led by a teacher. Teacher-led classes were introduced later. Teachers guide the practice, adjusting and assisting with postures and leading the group of students through a series of postures all at the same time.
Raj was born and raised in India where yoga and philosophy were part of her upbringing. With over 30 years of experience in various styles, she encourages everyone to open up to the possibility of change and helps her students to break fears and barriers to take their practice to the next level.
