Join us for our Senior Yoga workshop with Patricia Link (in-person & on Zoom)!!
This workshop is intended to provide practice in modifying standard yoga asanas to serve individuals with challenges typical of the older adult population, as for example:

Joint Issues
Osteoporosis
Visual Issues
Gravity
Proprioception

Visual Issues
In this participatory workshop, we will have an opportunity to analyze a number of classic asanas, focusing on “biofeedback”, i.e., the current of bodily sensations in a given pose. Awareness of this current will have been heightened by your experience in teachers’ training and/or by your own personal practice. This biofeedback can be a “ruler” to evaluate the modification.
The program is structured into two segments, the first involving a scenario in which a senior joins your mat class at a studio, spa or gym as part of a student group of varying proficiency. The second involves a class at a center for older adults where the students are in street clothes, doing poses seated on chairs or using chairs as props for standing work.
