Joy is our birthright, and it is what we look for in our lives. Everyone is looking for that happiness and deeper joy from the time we are born. We may feel a moment of joy in our lives. But that is a temporary moment. Joy is more akin to a profound sense of happiness. It is not an external feeling of happiness that comes from acquiring an object or situation. It is a state of mind and a feeling of the heart that includes contentment, confidence, and hope. This inner feeling does not leave us when conditions in our lives are not always the best.
When we are aware of ourselves, we shift from the mental doing mode to our intuitive mind “being” mode. When we are in a state of being, whatever we are doing, we are doing at this moment, without comparison. This is often referred to as “being in the flow.” Once we are in a “flow,” our actions become effortless and tensionless, because they come from an inner knowing.
Most important is that we should not give the habit we wish to remove energy, Negative self-talk by judging ourselves for the habit gives the habit more power over us. What we think we create. Therefore, let us see ourselves free from the habit. If we are overweight, let us imagine how we feel thin. Get it clearly in the mind and feel the whole body and mind thin. But should we eat that cake, let us not feel defeated and judge, but just accept a temporary failure. Self-criticism many a time are just thoughts that were not mindful. Do not feel powerless
Creativity requires us to start using our inner resources. To be creative we need to tap into our soul self, our heart center. It does not matter how we use our creativity. Mostly we think of creativity in the form of the arts like painting writing and music. But creativity can be used in every part of our life.
Contentment is an inner feeling that all of us have available. We are programed to look outside, rather than inside. We find that inner self through observation and becoming aware.
Anger can be a a great tool to give us energy to manifest change. But just like fire, which can cook a wonderful meal or burn down the house, anger can also destroy us.
No one criticizes us more than our own mind. And worst of all we do not even know that we are doing it. Most thoughts when we are not engaged are mental repetition. These thoughts are in the background. They come from our subconscious mind.
Compassion connects us to others and brings our innate natural nurturing feeling to the surface. We feel fulfilled when we help our fellow man. We want to be connected to our world. Compassion is when we give without expecting anything in return, when we are kind just to be so. Compassion takes us to a feeling that we are all one. Life with compassion takes on meaning and purpose.
The alpha state of mind activates the parasympathetic nervous system. Therefore, if we want health of body and mind, we need to bring our mind into alpha states. We can live our life in an alpha state. It is called mindfulness.
It would be wonderful if we could accept who we are without self-criticism. There seems to be a corner of the mind that has an unstoppable record player that keeps repeating the same sentences. “I am not good enough, I am too tall, too short, too fat, too stupid, too whatever.” Very rarely does it repeat “I am smart, I am healthy, I am abundant, I am happy, I am amazing.” No one criticizes us more than our own mind. And worst of all we do not even know that we are doing it.
